We hope in the coming months your experiences here with us will prove to be happy, successful, and motivating. Please read the following guide to our rules and policies. KIDS IN MOTION ETIQUETTE
1. No candy or gum chewing during class.
2. Have your name on all shoes, bags, and personal belongings.
3. Only dance bags will be allowed in the studios.
4. Please take time to use the restroom prior to class.
5. Class starts on time, please be dressed and ready to go.
6. Keep long hair pulled up and out of the way.
7. Jewelry or hard hair accessories may not be worn during class.
8. Please show the utmost respect to your instructor; pay attention, no chatting, and be polite.
9. Studio; Please do not hang from the ballet barres, touch the mirrors, or rough play.
Mini-Gym; Do not get on equipment without an instructor, no playing on the staircase, no rough play, no touching the mirrors.
Big Gym; Do not come onto the floor until your instructor has collected you. Do not play on the staircase or in the balcony viewing area. Stay off all equipment, no free play. Do not touch the mirrors.
10. Help keep the facilities clean and tidy.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
1. If Washington School district closes (does not include heat days) for weather related issues, this will be your “alert” to call the studio and check to see if we will be closed. Nine times out of ten if the school district is closed we will be also. However, sometimes there are exceptions. Tuition adjustments and class make-ups will not occur. You may either call the studio and listen to the recording, listen to KSLQ, or check the website; thekidsinmotion.com. If nothing is posted, check back. “CLASSES RUNNING” OR “CLASSES CANCELLED” will be posted.

HOLIDAY CLOSURES
1. Easter Observance; Friday thru Saturday
2. Labor Day & Memorial Day Weekend; Friday thru Monday
3. Thanksgiving Holiday; Thursday thru Saturday
4. 4th of July *if it falls on a weekend, we will be closed Friday thru Saturday.
5. Winter Break; Determined each season according to the calendar.

ABSCENSES
1. If you must miss class, please notify your instructor in advance. Please see the front desk if you would like to schedule a make-up. Make-up classes are not guaranteed.
2. Tuition is paid in full whether you attend an entire month or not. Tuition is not pro-rated for missed classes.
3. If you are planning to miss an entire month, the front desk must be notified two weeks in advance in order to avoid billing. If you fail to do so, you will be billed the full tuition amount. Payment will be required prior to returning to class. If you do give us a 30 day advance notice you will not be required to pay that month’s tuition. However, your class spot will not be held and you will be charged a $10 reinstatement fee when you return the following month (this does not apply to adult classes).

TUITION & FEE’S
1. Tuition is due by the 10th of each month. On the 11th of each month a $10 late fee (per family) will be applied. At the studio tuition is receipted at the front desk. At the annex we will provide a tuition drop box.
2. Return Check Policy: All returned checks will be charged a service fee of $25.00. Returned checks will be allowed seven days to provide repayment. After the seven day period, if fees are not made current your child will not be allowed to attend class until taken care of.
3. Tuition Refund Policy: Refunds for tuition will not be given once the month you want to be refunded for has begun. Attendance does not matter.
4. Registration Fee: A yearly registration fee ($30 indv./$50 family/$15 adult) is required each September, or when you start. This fee is pro-rated for students beginning after February. March 1st to the end of May is $20 indv./$35 family/$10 adult. For all summer classes we do not require a registration fee.
5. Performance Fee’s: Each year our dance students will participate in a “Spring Showcase” and our gymnastics, tumbling and cheer students will participate in a “Spring Meet”.

HOUSE RULES
GENERAL:
1. Be responsible for your trash and any spills.
2. QUITE voices are expected in the lobby or designated viewing area. Loud voices drift and disturb classes.
3. The bulletin board posted in the lobby will have important updates. Please remember to check it often.

STUDIO:
1. The Play Room is provided for your convenience. This is an unsupervised area, play at your own risk. We are not responsible for any injury incurred.
2. Viewing is permitted in the dance studios at all times through the shades. Viewing for the mini-gym is done via TV monitor, at the Annex you may either sit downstairs or upstairs.
3. Parents are never allowed to enter a dance room. If you need assistance please notify someone at the front desk. Classes are not to be disturbed.
4. If your child is late for class, please have someone from the front desk escort them into their classroom.

BIG GYM :
1. Viewing is permitted in the balcony and on the floor level. Please keep the floor level open for those with small children and those not able to manage the stairs. Use of the balcony for viewing is done at your own risk. Children should never be left unsupervised in the balcony area. We are not responsible for any injury sustained in our viewing areas. Keep all belongings or children off the equipment or matted areas and remain in the viewing area.
2. The staircase should never be used for a sitting. The blocking of the staircase is a direct violation to our city's fire code. There is no running, hopping, jumping, or playing allowed on the equipment.
